Specially Formulated for European Gasoline and Diesel Engines. AMSOIL Synthetic European Motor Oil provides exceptional performance and protection for gasoline and diesel European vehicles. It meets a wide variety of specifications and carries multiple manufacturer approvals. European Motor Oil features a broad range of viscosities and different levels of emissions system protection to keep sensitive emissions systems operating efficiently.
AMSOIL European Car Formula 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil is engineered for use in gasoline or diesel vehicles that require any of the following specifications:
• API SN, SM
• ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4
• BMW LL-01
• MB 229.1,229.3, 229.5
• Porsche A40
• Renault 0700, 0710
• VW 502.00, 505.00

AMSOIL products are formulated to meet or exceed the performance requirements set forth by the manufacturers of all applications shown/listed here.
Complete Coverage: AMSOIL European Motor Oil meets and often exceeds strict European manufacturer specifications. Its shear-stable synthetic base oils and high-quality anti-wear additives provide outstanding protection in high-temperature conditions and deliver dependable performance throughout the long drain intervals recommended by European manufacturers.
The excellent oxidation stability, heat resistance and detergency properties of AMSOIL European Car Formula help keep engines clean. It is specially designed to prevent sludge and varnish deposits, reduce oil consumption, extend engine life and provide maximum overall performance.
The broad 0W-40 viscosity rating, low volatility (burn-off) and wax-free nature of AMSOIL European Car Formula make it excellent for hot and cold temperatures. It helps reduce engine wear, control oil thickening and provide easier cold starts.
AMSOIL European Car Formula has a robust composition that shields engines from the high temperatures produced by turbochargers. Its thermally stable oil formulation resists deposit formation and cools turbochargers. Its low pour point protects turbo-chargers against oil starvation in subzero temperatures and ensures a rapid return to appropriate oil pressure at startup.
• Engineered to meet European manufacturers' specifications
• Excellent protection for gasoline, diesel and hybrid engines
• Fights sludge for superior engine cleanliness
AMSOIL European Motor Oil features precisely balanced formulations that consider the needs of modern exhaust treatment devices. Protecting sensitive emissions systems depends on using the optimal blend of SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur). AMSOIL European Motor Oil is carefully crafted in six varieties to ensure proper emissions system function.
AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic Motor Oil is compatible with other synthetic and conventional motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL motor oil with other oils, however, will shorten the oil's life expectancy and reduce its performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.
Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL motor oils.
Recommended for the extended drain intervals established by the vehicle manufacturer. Change oil filter at time of oil change.
This product is not expected to cause health concerns when used for the intended application and according to the recommendations in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

As an Amsoil Preferred Customer, I exclusively use European Car Formula 5W-40 in my Mercedes Benz Sprinter work van, as it meets the required MB specifications. I do so for the same reason I use the appropriate Amsoil products in the 38-year old Diesel engine in my commercially-operated boat, in my whole-house generator, my small engines, and in the generators and small engines I service for my customers. I use Amsoil lubricants because I know from long experience that engines supplied with Amsoil oils (and properly maintained in all other respects) enjoy a long, trouble-free life. I sold a '91 Aerostar with 348,000 miles on it-and the engine never needed oil between changes. Same with my '04 Astro van, sold in 2014 at 336,000 miles and still running now. Given the well-earned reputation for longevity of Mercedes Diesels and the high level of protection afforded by Amsoil European Car formula, I'm expecting an even longer life for the Sprinter's engine.

I've tried and lab tested multiple brands of euro synthetic oil in my BMW X3, and none of them have held up to the quality standards as the AMSOIL euro has. It has lasted longer inbetween changes, has higher levels of quality lasting additives, and that's clearly shown on the lab results and even mentioned by the lab.

I use this product in the winter for my 2001 Audi 1.8T quattro equipped car because I live on a mountain. The temperatures in the winter time are always 5+/- degrees from an average temperature of 28* degrees in the season so having a superior oil is no exception, its the rule. Since my car is genuine factory turbo car it doesn't play nice with oil at ALL. This particular model was issued a sludge warning from Audi because of the destructive forces of heat from the turbocharger. I can call myself a spirited driver because I dont drive slow unless there is traffic on the road so therefore I am putting this oil and engine under stress at times. The oil protected my car from catastrophic failure when OEM K03 turbo went out at 175k miles. It also cleaned out factory oil cooler, now my engine temps are always at 205* degrees. The valve-train is very quiet at 178k miles and you barely hear any hydraulic lifter noises at all. You really get what you pay for! Only con about this oil is that it is not readily available in local stores or vendors since they do not stock up on it. I would recommend this oil to anyone who maintains their German vehicle to a high degree.

I recently purchased a Porsche Panamera and had read that the v8 engine in this particular model was thirsty on oil. After several months of driving it was apparent that some of these observations were true. The previous owner of the car had it serviced at a dealership and they had used the recommended brand of oil at that time. I decided to switch to Amsoil as soon as possible, as I use it in all of my vehicles and small engines and have done for several years now. The car immediately reduced its oil consumption. Not only that but here in North Dakota this winter, we have experienced extreme temperatures in the minus 20's and the car has started perfectly and run like a dream.
I continue to be impressed with the tangible performance enhancements I get with Amsoil products. I have an STI Impreza and a Lotus Elise that I drive competitively and Amsoil has protected them through several seasons of autocrossing and track days. I have heard of several turbo failures from other STI owners who race but I am convinced that my European Formula oil protects me from those kinds of mishaps. Thank you for a range of high quality products.
